CarePlus New Jersey is a northern New Jersey provider of recovery-focused mental health, substance abuse, and family services that address the unique needs of individuals with a holistic approach to recovery and overall wellness.

 

Operating out of 23 sites – including three outpatient centers located in Paramus, Fair Lawn, and Montclair, ten residential facilities, offices at three local hospitals, and seven community offices – our services are convenient to clients located throughout Northern New Jersey. We also provide educational programs on mental health-related topics to area schools and community groups.

Responsibilities

Provides supportive crisis intervention services on a 24/7 hour basis.  Responds to the individual needs of their clients and families. Assures departmental goals and/or objectives are accomplished within designated time frames.

  • Supportive Counseling in person and over the phone
  • Referral and linkage to community programs/supports
  • Provides psycho-education, crisis intervention, and advocacy on-site and in the community
  • Answers crisis hotline and provides follow up calls when appropriate
  • Assists clients with Psychiatric Advanced Directives

Qualifications

  • Must be a consumer of mental health services
  • Must have a minimum of a BA/BS degree in the mental health related field, with 2 years experience working in the field
  • Knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; internet software and electronic health records database software
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Agency's automobile insurance policy
  • Working well within an interdisciplinary team, as well as independently with support are essential qualities for this job
