CarePlus New Jersey is a northern New Jersey provider of recovery-focused mental health, substance abuse, and family services that address the unique needs of individuals with a holistic approach to recovery and overall wellness.

 

Operating out of 23 sites – including three outpatient centers located in Paramus, Fair Lawn, and Montclair, ten residential facilities, offices at three local hospitals, and seven community offices – our services are convenient to clients located throughout Northern New Jersey. Responsibilities

The Bergen County Psychiatric Emergency Screening Program is a program of CarePlus New Jersey.   The purpose of the Screening Program is to provide emergency mental health services throughout Bergen County.

 

Care Plus NJ is seeking Full-time and Part-time professional and qualified Mental Health Screeners to provide therapeutic face-to-face assessments and telephone crisis intervention.  Various schedules are available; comprised of day, evening, overnight and weekend hours.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Answer crisis hotline; conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to determine the clinically appropriate treatment in the least restrictive setting possible on-site and in the community; monitor and supervise clients in the Screening Center.



Qualifications

    • Possess either a MSW or MA in related field plus one year post master, fulltime employment, in mental health OR
    • Possess a BA plus 3 years fulltime employment in mental health post BA, one of which must be in a crisis setting (approved crisis settings are: designated screening centers, affiliated emergency services, psychiatric inpatient units, children’s mobile response, licensed crisis facilities, Family Crisis Intervention Unit or Early Intervention Support Services) OR
    • Possess a BA enrolled in MA program, plus two years, fulltime employment in mental health, one of which must be in a crisis setting (approved crisis settings are: designated screening centers, affiliated emergency services, psychiatric inpatient units, children’s mobile response, licensed crisis facilities, Family Crisis Intervention Unit or Early Intervention Support Services).
    • Possess excellent computer skills. 
    • Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Agency's automobile insurance policy 
    • Must have the ability to handle crisis situations, in a fast paced environment.
